Hi all,

I am currently running SPS and we are using it as a central document repository.

What I wish to stop is the users from saving on their local PC's so that they will have the latest version that is available.

Is there anyway to stop this from happening.

Thanks.

Hello,

well this is not a setting that you can do within SharePoint. If a user has the right in Windows to save files locally, that will then also be possible from within SharePoint.

What I have done on users here is that I have mapped their My Documents to a server, so that it is not placed locally on the users computer, however they can still save files onto the local drives such as the C: drive.

Best way I see it, is to try and educate the users on how they should work with the documents.

Regards,
Thomas

Thanks Thomas,

I figured it may have been the way.

Greatfully appreciative of the post.
