He is the situation:
At work we have this program that allows data to be exported out in ascii format.

I then created an Access database for my own use linking the external text files. I've created several queries based on this data for our office .doc files using the office link option.

Now I want to create some forms within Access97 where the data will populate the form with these linked tables but I also want to add addtional information.

Then I want to save this new data along with the automatic populate data in a new table for later use in queries for our quarterly reports.

How can I do this and how can I do this easier?
Thanks

Hi,
Personally, I would take the text file and add a line at the beginning that represents the field names. Then, go into Access and import the data. You can do this with File, Get External Data, Import. You will see how handy it is to have the first line with field names.
Once you have it in its' own table, you will then be able to modify it so you can add additional fields. Finally, Access has alot of wizards that will assist in creating all sorts of things, including queries, reports, labels, etc.
