I employ a couple routers ranging from 1720,2522,2511, and one L3 switch/router 2948G. Most of these routers are running Cisco IOS ver 12.0

I want to save the console error messages for each of these routers/switch. We are planning to use up some of the disk space on one of our servers.

Is it possible ? How am I going to do that ?

Hope someone helps

Hi ,
The way to do that is to have a syslog daemon running on the server you want to use for storing the console messages and turning on the logging console on your routers and specify the address of the server .
For that , type <logging console> and <logging server x.x.x.x> on Global mode config of the routers . This will redirect all your console messages to the syslog file on the syslog server x.x.x.x .

I hope it will helps you .

Regards .
