saving back from quark 8 to quark 7 1

hi,

i've installed quark 8 and saved older quark documents in this new application - however now i need to change for indesign using the app Q2IDm but it doesn't apply to anything higher than Quark7. hence i need to save back to Quark 7 - tried opening with quark 7 but it doesnt happen. and when using Saving As in Quark 8, it doesnt give me the option of compatibility.

am i stuck??

...in quark 8 choose file > export > layouts as project...

...change the version to 7 in the pull down menu on the right...

...it also sounds like you are performing quite a leap to get into indesign, so depending on how complex your quark 8 file is, i would be careful and check through once you have converted to indesign...

...particulary text reflow and any transparency/fancy effects used in quark 8...
