I am looking for a way to same attachments in outlook email with out have to open each document and then same to a folder. Does anyone know if there a simple way to acheive this or do you have to open each and every email to perform the save function?

Outlook SP1; MS Windows XP Professional; Dell OptiPlex GX270

OK, here's what you do.

First you download this little bugger and install it:

Then, in Outlook, you go into Tools - Rules & Alerts (or Message Rules in older vers.)

Create a new rule for after the message arrives. Say if the message has an attachment, then perform Custom Actions. Click on Custom Action link and tell it to save file to disk. File will be removed from E-Mail, saved to disk, and a link will be put in its place.

Save your rule, and be sure to put a check mark in the box next to your rule to turn it on.

If you want to get creative you can add things to your rule so this only happens if the messages are to a person or group, or from a person or group, or whatever. You get the picture...

Hope this works for you. It works for me :)

Edit: I just downloaded the new version since we were on the subject. The new version no longer runs through message rules and has its own little menu that it adds to the tools and options menus. You can set everything up in there now for who /what/where you want it to run.
