I have a list where users save attachments quite frequently. Most of the time they are opening an attachment from a list item, editing it ehn saving it again. About 10 percent of the time they are getting an error message stating that "xxx.doc can not be accessed. The file may not exist or may be in use or the web server may be busy". I just created a new Sharepoint server & offloaded SQL to a cluster environment but we are still getting the error. I have ran perfmon counters and can find no appearant performance issues. It'ws like SQL is holding the file open or something. Any ideas how to begin to resolve this?
