Guys

Does anyone have any advice or links on how to backup an ASA firewall config? I have inherited a couple of ASA5520's and there does not appear to be a backup of the config.

Also, SSH is setup and the IP Address of the management server is added to the Configuration > Properties > Device Access > Secure Shell in ADSM but when I try to use Putty to SSH to the ASA I get "Server unexpectedly closed network connection". Any ideas?

Thanks

Are you able to get at the device and use a console cable?? What about Telnet??

Thanks for the reply.

I have enabled Telnet to the ASA in the short term and I can access and login ok via telnet. I have not tried the console cable yet...

for ssh, make sure your client uses the right version (generally v2.)

also make sure you have the host you're connecting from is in the allowed list.

with all cli just do a show run and copy it. this won't get you passwords and crypto keys. for that you will need to tftp the config off.
