Hello - I've got a Definity G3R, release 11. I ran a list-config software version command, to check on the status of my backups, when I noticed under "Announcement Date", that indicate no backup for either the removable media or disk copy since June of 2010. (I'm new here, so I didn't notice it unitl recently)

I find this odd. I have 3 750C's which I back-up using separate MO disks for each board, and one VAL board which I back up using Voice Announcement Manager to a network location. A "Save Translations" run's nightly at 10pm.

Do I need to run a "save announcement disk" command to at least get the disk resident to update?

What about the removable-media entry? I'm confused that the removable-media backup isn't indicating that backups have taken place.

Can someone shed some light? Thanks.

You can only backup 1 TN750 to removable media. It is not done with the nightly backup, must be done manually with "save ann". You must backup each board to a different removable media.

lopes1211 - I understand that. I even said that I use separate MO (magneto-optical) disks for each board. Hence - I'm backing up each TN750 board to different removable-media. What I'm not understanding is why that effort is not shown when I run a list-config software version.

list configuration software-versions long will show timestamps for the media in each MSS at the time you run the command.
This command is used to query the current backup media.

AvayaTier3 - Thanks for the info, but my Definity software doesn't have the "long" switch for software-versions.

long is for duplicated spe

without long, spe-A hard disk and removable media are queried
with long, after spe-A, spe-B hard disk and removable media are queried. (this is for g3rv6 246 and higher) earlier versions have hard disk and tape, g3si and csi have flash cards if g3v3 or higher. Some g3siv2 are tape and some are flash.
