I have tried to use the repository but obviously don't know what I am doing. Is there a way to save the formulas that I use in reports so that I can use them in other reports without having to remake them?? Thanks for any help.......
You can lassoo and copy multipel formulas at once in CR and paste them into another report, or you can use the repository
From the CR XI help:
Use the Add to Repository command to open the Add Item dialog box so you can add the object that you have selected to the BusinessObjects Enterprise Repository.
Note:
You might need to connect to BusinessObjects Enterprise before you can access the repository. For information about connecting to BusinessObjects Enterprise, see Working with Enterprise folders.
For information about how to use the repository, see BusinessObjects Enterprise Repository.
Hi,
as far as I can tell, formulas ( as such) cannot be saved in the repository - BUT, you can copy your formula , insert it into a Text box and save it as a text object to the repository..
To use the formula in a report, reverse the process..insert the saved text object somewhere and copy it into the formula you create --tweek the field names, etc as needed - then you can delete the inserted text object from the report.
To Paraphrase:"The Help you get is proportional to the Help you give.."
Thanks for the replies. I guess I need to find out how to setup the Repository. When I open it it gives the option to set it up. When I try it, it says made contact but there is no server on that port. Thanks again for your help...
