Hello,

We have winspm v4 with Merlin Magix R2. One of our employees passed away unexpectedly. We still have a copy of him saying his name on the voicemail system. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to save that recording as a .wav or some other usable file.

Thanks for any help.

The only way I know of is to make a recording from the handset. There is no other useful access to the files stored on the messaging system's hard drive. The audio quality will depend on how good a recorder and mike you use. There are some special ones that are made to record from telephones that tap into the handset cord - but I am not sure that the quality would be any better.

Try the PC Administration software that came with the MErlin Messaging. Open up the user's mailbox, and see if there is an option there for saving the name recording to the computer running the software. There is an option on the Auto Attendants to do it, and there "may" be an option for a user's mailbox.
