Saving a db with a value of a field

Due to the constant modifications of my db which i keep learning from the good people in here, want i thought of doing is have a field called Ver No: and the value of this field save my db as this, i am upto to 9 version in the last 2weeks and have to keep using save as, just wondering if it could be done in a field to make it easy.
