Hallo,

we make a savevg on Host 1 and a restvg on Host 2.

savevg -f'/tmp/backup' '-v' '-i' '-e' testvg
restvg -f/tmp/backup -q hdisk2 hdisk3

We must make chmod und chown.

When we make the same on Host 1, the security and the owner is OK.

Why?

Compare the user / group ownership of your backup directories on the 2 systems. Also check that the uid / guid settings are the same. It may be that the uid / guid's map to different user / groups, so when you restore it gives the appearance of changing the user / group ownership.

You probably have the best workaround anyway - using chown after the restore.
