Does anyone know if its "safe" and useful to use Savevg to backup a volume group with a snapshot on it?

Basically, I want to
1. Stop Oracle
2. Snapshot the oracle lv
3. Start Oracle
4. Perform a savevg on the volume group

Then, in the event of a restore I'll use listvgbackup or the like to specifically restore the snapshot file system as the full backup of the Oracle LV...

Is this doable, or am I missing something?

Looks like unuseful ... if you wish a full consistent copy of Oracle DB in a specific moment use Oracle Backup OnLine with or without RMAN.
If you Oracle system is not ARCHIVE_LOG enabled the copy you will get could be absolutely not usable.
Furthermore ... if Oracle activity is very high during the copy, you're snapshot volume will be invalidated in a while.
