Server: RHEL 5.3, Networker 7.5 SP1
Clients: Solaris 9 & 10, Networker 7.5 SP1

Once started the scheduled group, the backup client begins:

1) Precmd is run, its output is ok (exit status is 0)

2) Networker starts copying

3) Precmd is run again, pstcmd is run also, while copy has not finished yet.

We have observed this issue under the next conditions:

1) Saveset All is configured as a saveset.

2) Client OS Type is Solaris

One of the clients was not supported, Solaris 8 is not supported in 7.5 SP1, so it was downgraded to 7.4 SP5, I repeated the group and worked out!.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hello, if so, this is a bug!!!
savepnpc should create a ???.lck lockfile in NetWorkers tmp directory and run (lock) through the complete backup. pre and post command - both are called from savepnpc and should only started once.

Hello,

the problem is known to EMC.

pstcmd runs unconditionaly 60 seconds after the precmd.

The solution is to grab the pstclntsave binary from 7.4.4 to replace the 7.5.1 version.

It is completely true.

In fact, I have just been recommended to downgrade to 7.4 SP5 or wait for 7.5 SP2 which is going to be release in the next days.

Obviously, since it is a production environment, best workaround is performing such downgrade.

Many thanks for you collaboration!
