Savepnpc & nsrclone

Hi All,

The backup of my backup server is failing on a regular basis, not daily though..

version 7.1.3 build 404 W2k server

Checking the log justs tells you that not all commands ran successfully.

The only workaround i have is to run nsrim -X then rerun the backup..

Is there another way to achieve this or am i just missing something..

Be careful:
When running savepnpc, the file groupname.tmp will created at the start. It shall be removed at the end of the process. However, if the process the backup was aborted for whatever reason, this file will not be deleted.

If the group is rerun, the existence of this file prevents its re-creation and the pre-command can not be executed successfully.

To correct the problem, simply search the file (on the client) and delete it before rerunning the group.

I have deleted the (groupname).tmp file and reran the group and it still failed..

Any other ideas???

The only issue i see is that the save sets that you want to clone are not complete because their backup has been aborted or interrupted. This would also explain the residual tmp file.

Inspecting the save set status information with mminfo should tell you more and prove the facts.
