Hi

I have one nortel 1648 and two 5520 i need to back up the configs form these two devices can anyone please help?

How do i do this

cheers!

The easiest way might be to just login to each switch and capture the output from a "show config" (ERS1648 v2.x) and "show running-config" (ERS5500).

I use PuTTY as my telnet/ssh program of choice and it includes the ability to perform session logging.

You could also setup a TFTP server somewhere on your network and have the switches copy their configurations up to the TFTP server using either Device Manager or the CLI interface.

Good Luck!

Thanks

Can the same be done on the 1648?

Best is to run tftp on your laptop because you should be using it every time you configure a comms device.

For the 5520,
copy run tftp address ....
is what you need.

For the 1600,
upload configuration <TFTP Server Address> <File Name>
should do it.
