Hi

My boss has asked me to do something I am not sure even exists. He wants to create a pdf from one of our websites. I mentioned that I'd have to go through the entire website, screenshot each page and add the screenshot on to a new pdf page.

He said that he doesn't want it like that, he wants it as a multi layer pdf and that there is a tool in acrobat where we just add the url and acrobat goes ahead and creates the pdf itself.

I went straight to Google but can't find anything about this, is he making it up?

Thanks

Yes, Acrobat Pro can crawl a web site and turn HTML to PDF pages. If you don't already have the software, you can probably get a 30-day trial to see for yourself.

Conversion is not always beautiful as content from a long scrolling HTML page might get broken into separate PDF pages at less-than-ideal locations (split images/split tables). You will also have issues with animated or interactive content that may not translate to PDF.

I'm not sure about the perception of a "multi layer PDF". The older version of Acrobat Pro I use does not create official PDF layers. However, the elements of the captured web page (text blocks, images) are still moveable with Acrobat's object edit tools.
