Many of us usually work in long term projects that can take from couple of months to couple of years.
For those of you that work in Windows 2000 or XP, you can save a great deal of time if you choose to HIBERNATE your PC instead of Shutting-Down.
I use an AMD Athlon +1900XP with a dual monitor configuration. Most of the time (when i work in a project) i have multiple applications running (Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, Paint, Notepad, Wordpad, MODEM software, Outlook, Calculator, Character Set, Command Prompt, ..... and others) and when i shut down, i need to get all the above applications running from start (open the files i want, resize & place the windows where i want and many other things)
The HIBERNATE option is a real time saver since it can resume your current windows state in a matter of seconds. Michael Manos
