Hi all,

When trying to save a form in Paradox 9 I am experiencing a problem. The form does not save unless I use a 'save as' and then rename the form to the original name.

At first I was getting an error message saying:

"Could not write to file"

but now it doesn't even say that and just doesn't save my changes.

If I try and close a form after making changes, it asks me if I want to save it and if I say yes it doesn't close or save.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Is it a bug and if so can I get a patch?

Thanks,

Woody

Check the file properties using Windows explorer. See if it's set to read only. This is especially true if you have XP.

The properties seem fine. This is a problem that was evident from the start, it just suddenly started to happen.
It's very annoying as you can imagine!

I'm not sure if it's a "bug" or not but I've experienced a similar problem. Try saving the form with a temporary name, delete the original form then rename the form with temporary name back to the original name.

Let me know if this helps.

Woody,

Also, verify that your form's stylesheet is value; I have seen this error appear when the form was last saved using a stylesheet located on a drive and/or directory that no longer exists.

Hope this helps...
