Save Not Working

I am using an Access 2000 front end with a SQL Server backend. I just converted the backend data from Access to SQL server two weeks ago.

Things seemed to be working fine, then we discovered that we needed to add an index to a patient record field--that wasn't the primary key-- so that the patient record field wouldn't allow duplicates. I did that, and now I'm having problems saving records.

Whenever I try to save a record on a form with a subform, I'm having problems. You can enter the data, until you get to the subform, where the save occurs. Once you get into the subform, the data originally entered is gone, and the data displayed on the form is always the last sequentially sorted patient record in the database.

Oh, another catch on this, if the users enter something that causes an error whenever they are in the process of entering the data (like entering a duplicate Patient Record number--which causes an error, or trying to save the record before a required field is entered), the save will work.

Any help would be great! Thanks!
