Hi there,

I have designed the webpage for my client, and now i want to save for web, so then i can slice my image in fireworks, i know you may asking why not just do it photoshop, but i prefer slicing it in fireworks. What type of file would be best GIF or JPEG?

thanks

edd

That all depends on the type of image you are working with. If it is comprised of photographic elements and gradients, then JPG is the best format, if solid colors and hard lines between colors, and text elements, then GIF would be better.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

A TIF would be best. Does Fireworks let you open TIF files?

For the record, PhotoShop and Image Ready will give you much better results than Fireworks. Although Fireworks is still good. Don't get me wrong.

TIF is NOT a web graphic format. TIF is used for print. For the web, you really have 3 options, JPG, GIG and PNG which is not fully supported yet.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

Yes, like Viol8ion says, jpeg or gif(gif for sharp defined areas of colour or text - or for animations), or png(if you need it's alpha transparency).

I don't know what BDNFLNC is thinking about.

Moe: It could have been a real ugly situation, but luckily I managed to shoot him in the spine.

Hey Viol8ion, what's a *.gig? *LOL*

.gig... that is me falling asleep while typing, don't try this at home, I am a professional!

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
