If you have lots of digital photos is it better to Save for Service Provider or create a pdf?

I have been doing the pdf thing for several years with no problems or complaints from the publisher. Are they just putting up with me?

Thanks,

Daniel

Hi, angler2229,

Assuming your publisher is happy with PDFs, why change?

PDFs have better security.

Thanks, John. That's what I assumed. But here recently I have been reading a lot about using the Save for Service Provider and wondered if I had been doing something wrong.

Thanks, again.

Daniel

Hi, Daniel,

S4SP does a pre-flight check and has a utility to neatly bundle up all the files needed to faithfully open the PM file on another PC. This means the recipient has to have a copy of PM (preferably the same version and platform) as well, which is not always guaranteed.

Sending a PDF is far more compact, and you retain full editing control.

Thanks, John,

Why fix it if it's not broken? I think I'll stay with pdf's.
