Hello,
How can I click on a link to a word document, but instead of opening it, it gives the option to download file or open from location ?

thank you.

hello,
this is for everyone.
Is there a way to automatically do it ?
ie. without, holding shift, or right clicking , save as target.

so, what I want is :
user clicks link, then the download box is displayed , giving them the option to open from current location or download file.

Hi,

If it's for users then the best way is to zip the files using something like Winzip! They will automatically download in zip format.

Or you can just display a message like the one I posted above.

Apart from that i'm not sure if there is a way. Easiest solution would be to zip them.

Hi mate,

You can do this server side, you just need to run a script that calls the file and sends a different header.

Hope this helps Wullie
