save email file from office outlook

My outlook from office 2003 is corrupt and needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled,I tried transfering the emails to express but was unable to, i want to save the emails but i don't know where the file is to save them, can anyone tell me where to look and what to look for?

In a stand-alone configuration, Outlook stores mail, contacts & calender information in a .pst file. If using Exchange, it's stored on the server.

My outlook is a standalone, i ran a search but it didn't find the .pst file. Would you know where the file is located with the default insatll?

You'll need to check options to include hidden / protected files in the Search to see the PST file.
