save CS2 project in previous version

Choose Adobe Illustrator Document as the format, and click Save. In the second screen that pops up (Illustrator Options) there is a list at the top which allows you to choose which version of Illustrator you'd like to use. Illustrator 10 is in that list. CS isn't so bad - you just export instead of save...
Sure, but why separate it at all? It was always available under Save before. I know there are technical differences between legacy formats and CSx formats, but from the user's perspective, they're still Illustrator files. Or maybe it's just me: too much change makes me grumpy!
I'm absolutely convinced they have a contest late in the evening at the Adobe holiday party every year to come up with the dumbest possible re-naming of tools and re-conventioning of conventions...
