After upgrading from 7.0 mr2 to 7.1 on Sun Solaris, the "Save" button is grayed out. I logon as Administrator, create a report from the Great OutDoor cube and "Save As" to personal newsbox. Exit out of the report and open the new report, you can not "Save" the new changes because the "Save" button is grayed out.

After uninstall and reinstall many time, We found that the problem happen right after Upfront upgrade process. Everything work before the upgrade process.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Hi,

I had something simular and it is likely that the cube's .cfx file in C:\Program Files\Cognos\cer3\ppserver\PPSRoot directory is corrupt.

Removing the CFX file and re-adding the cube to PPES should fix the problem.

from the cognos knowledge base:

This can occur when the ability to Publish to Upfront, or the toolbar selections to save and save as, have been disabled. To remedy this, verify that 'Publish to Upfront' is enabled under the 'Publishing' section on both cube and report settings tabs.
If the issue still persists, verify that the toolbar icons have not been disabled. This can be found on the cube things tab under the 'Toolbar' section.

cheers

Thanks Christenhusz,

I removed the cfx and republish the cube, it did not work. Publish to Upfront is enabled and the toolbar icon for "Save" is enable also. Cognos support have been working on this case since May 20 and no luck so far.

Too bad...Did you install the cer3 directory next to the cer2 directory or did you deinstall the cer2 directory and then installed cer3? If you did perhaps some old references still remain in the registry, like paths to apllications etc.?

I'm out of options now....
;-(

hang in there!

Hello Christenhusz,

We install the products on a different server and upgrade from there. Cer3 is the only directory.
