save as will not work

I have converted an Asta Powerproject programme to Microsoft Project using the mpx format save as option.
I have Microsoft Project 2000. This will open the converted file but will not allow me to 'save' it or 'save as'.?????

Just a guess ...

File > Save As...

At the bottom of the "Save As" dialog box, set "Save as type" to "Project (*.mpp)" and give it a file name of "PDQBach" and see if that works.

If that doesn't work, attach a copy of a PrintScreen of the "Save As" dialog box.
