Save as HTML in different Word Versions

HI all,

I am having the following problem. I use MS word 97 in the office. When I "save as HTML" Word creates an HTML file and any associted graphics in one folder, which suits me down to the ground.

However, my colleagues use Word 2000. When they "save as HTML" it stores the HTML file in one folder, and other files (graphics etc.) in an oddly names SUBFOLDER.

Can anyone tell me how to configure Word 2000 to save as HTML in the same way as Word 97 (i.e. in the same directory, just the HTML and graphics)

Don't use Word for making web pages

If you have no choice and you have to, follow this:
When you click on the "Save As..." and you select "Web page (htm., html)". Goto Tools, and click on Web Options. The second tab along the top is "Files", the first option is "Organize Supporting Files in a folder". Uncheck that box, and it should throw all of the supporting files into one folder.

Dear Sir Patrick,

Amazing. This works a treat.

I'm a web devver by trade (so use notepad!) and I have created a content management system, but I needed my users to be able to create theoir own HTML (without learning how) and word was the best way.

This has solved all my probs, and I will now be Tuesday's Hero at work.

Have you considered using Macromedia Contribute? MS Word creates a lot of junk. It does work but....

Totally agree with the comments. Word does do HTML...it just does it badly. Very badly. It is NOT a good HTML editor, since it makes such bloated crap.

Notepad works fine, but EditPad (free!) is a much better clean text editor. And if you want a decent HTML specific editor, 1st Page 2000 (also free!) is one of the best.

Word? Good word processor, but...shudder...horrible HTML.
