Everytime I go to "save as" I get this error;

"FRONTPG.exe has generated error and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being generated."

I have admin privigles (I've even installed under admin!)

I do know this only happens when I'm editing my site at the host. I've doing this for years and no problem. Just got new computer with win2K.

Thanks for any help.

I can't tell you exactly what you problem is but you might try saving the file local and then ftp the file up to you Web.

I can't save locally! I can"t save at all! I get the error immediatly upon choosing "save" or "save as" and a few seconds later frontpage closes on it's own!

Renaming is not an option as I want to keep the original page. I like to open a page that has the same layout save it as a different page then edit it.

Let me add this does not happen locally. I've made a new web site locally and save and save as work fine. I'll try publishing locally and then editing but some things run on my web server that I could not run locally.

The only thing that has changed from last is my operating sys - 98' to win2000pro.

Can you cut/paste the error log that gets gen'ed?

Yes. There were two here is the first. If you need the second I'll post it as well.((items in double brakets have been change to protect the innocent!));

Which version of Office and/or Frontpage do you have installed on the W2K Pro station? Also, have you applied the latest SP for that version of Office or Frontpage?

Office 2000 and yes all service packs/updates have been installed. Laptop came with XP Professional which does not include frontpage. I removed XP and installed my 2000. Had a bit of a problem dealing with win2000 and different users (local vs connecting to a domain etc) as this was my first experience with 2000 other than in server form.

I only log on locally and I have admin priv.

The current install was done under my user name although I did one as the admin and logged in as admin and still got error.

Could ther still be traces of any of the installs? Could they be causing my problem?

Thanks for responding!

Go into your c:\temp, and C:\Documents and Settings\%yourprofile%\Local Settings\Temp

Delete the files in there, reboot, and try it again.
