SAVCE9 client with SAVC8 server

Hi there,

Just wondering if existing SAV system contains SAVCE8 client managed by SAVCE8 server, now purchased new SAVCE9 client.

Wondering if any drawbacks that SAVCE9 client being managed by SAVCE8 server?

Or, SAVCE server MUST be higher version than SAVCE client?

for testing, i´ve installed on my machine an sav 9.0 client
managed by a sav8 server
there are no errors occured in the last 3 weeks
the client get´s it updates, scheduled scans will work

but the additional tools in 9.0 can´t be managed with the 8 server in the system center console (btw : internet email autp protect)

but the disabled functions (disabled for the user to change, managed by the server in the ssc)in clientview is still disabled

You will still get definitions, but as tgbbz says, the ssc components in sav 8.x will not manage a 9.x client
