SAV CE 9.0 clients not sending alerts to AMS

Just upgraded from SAV CE 8.0 to 9.0. Clients that have been upgraded to 9.0 do not reliably send alerts as configured by AMS. Clients still on 8.0 always send alerts reliably. Have uninstalled, reinstalled etc. Have also changed primary servers but behavior is the same. 8.0 clients always send alerts and 9.0 clients do not. Clients are W2k and XP.

I have to regularly check SSC to see if a machine is infected because the alerts do not pop up as they should. Using the test button is always successful. This would seem to indicate that the issue is communication between the client and server. However, all definitions and configuration changess are pushed to 9.0 clients quickly and trouble free.
