Has anyone gotten the logon script SAV supplies to work properly? I tested on 5 workstations, and all but 1 failed miserably. Either it will continue to reinstall every time the user logs on, it won't update at all, or if there is no symevent dll's then the logon script will fail all together.

As stated, I've only had one previous 7.5 client successfully upgrade to 8.0 in one shot. The rest were all messed up.

How do you deploy SAV to ensure near 100% coverage in your network? We've got SMS (but that has its own problems). It seems that a logon script would be the way to go, but with such a bad success rate, how can you go that route?

Any suggestions?

Can't you just use the SSC console to roll out to the desktops. I did 55 workstations in a heartbeat that way. =============

I wanted a logon script since we have some remote sites than put computers on the network, without telling anyone in central IT. This way the logon script checks every time a computer logs on the network. It would just be a lot easier than constantly having to monitor every site for changes.

I have it working but user need to be admin on local workstation... which I prefer not.
I have it working with removing old norton/symnatec clients manually, all new windows 2000 pro instllations gets the installation via vplogon.
