A friend has a satellitle connection and an ISDN connection for internet access across his small lan. FYI cable modem and dsl is not avail in this location.... Is their an easy way to get these two to work together seamlessly. The satellite uses USB connection (to my knowledge there is no way to share satellite without ICS, sygate, etc.) with ICS and the isdn is shared with a router. Is this problem as simple as configuring multiple gateways and mutiple DNS entries so that when the satellite goes down it will look for the isdn connection?

Thanks,
Andrew

P.S. Fractional T1 is also not an option

Since the satelite connection is (I presume) at the pc, and the isdn connection is on a router, these cannot work directly together. You might try to add two default gateways to your system, and set the metric(cost) of the isdn route higher than the satelite link.
This will probably only work if the satelite device goes down physically (power failure/ unplugged).

Another alternative is to write a script that polls the connections and configures the pc to use whatevers up and desired.

Another solution would be to move the satelite link to the router, but I presume this will generate some hardware costs.
