We have a farm and want to get the satellite TV signal from the house to the barn office. Buildings are approximately 1000 ft apart. Existing wiring consists of a 50 twisted pair telephone cable (Cat 3?) direct burial and a direct burial coax with ground (not sure of the specs on the coax but it is about 3/4" in diameter and has an attached ground and was installed about 25 years ago).
We have a pbx phone system using pairs on the Cat 3, and in the past the local cable company provided cable TV using the Coax.
Can a satellite dish single be pushed that distance. Is there a termination/interface or piece of equipment necessary to repeat the signal?
