I have a Toshiba 2100CDT laptop that I have completly formated and need to load an OS onto.
The problem is that our buddies @ tos%^&&(*%*iba have decide that the drivers for the CD rom should only come with the pre-loaded O/S that they sell you with the laptop.
AHHHH! Taber-nacle!!!
So how the heck do I load a CD driver onto a box that doesn't exist souly on it's own?
have installed DOS 6.something to boot up on, but the damb thing still won't detect the CD ROM. Hvae even edited the command.com file to point to the CD drive to no avail.
?????????????????????????????
Am almost at the point where I might have to hook up with my Linux buddy to just load Red Hat on the thing instead of Windows. I know it'll work a hell of a lot better, it's just that I often need the graphical interpretations of windows to show clients/boss, in a picture-pretty display, what's going on, with "their" equipment!"
How do I detect this CD drive and assign a handle to it, when I can't even load the driver for it?
