Ok I'm dumb founded here, I've been running RAID striped on XP for about a year and a half now with no problems. This morning I did a normal routine of checking e-mails no problem and about a few hours later I went back to the computer and realized it was locked up so I turned off the power and restarted.
On boot-up I got the error message "corrupt or missing file C:/windows/system32/system run windows disk and press R for repair"
Alright no problem so I did but after installing the raid drivers the windows installer wouldn't see the drives. No mater what I do, chaging bios setting and changing them back checking the hardrives, checking cables, checking physical jumpers all was OK. Then I thought the drives were bad... but if they were bad the RAID bios wouldn't see the drives.
So maybe the RAID array was damaged so I sucked it up and deleted the array and created a new on. Everything go's smooth go's through the normal bios then the RAID bios it sees the hard drives boots to the XP setup press F6 to install RAID drivers, install the drivers then go's to the "Press ENTER to continue set-up" I was supprised to see the next screen to say setup can not find any hard drives. I did nothing different from the first time I installed RAID and XP. I've tryed installing about a hundred times.
Why will the bios see the drives but XP will not?
Thanks in advance for any help.
