SATA Hot Swap for Poweredge 2900

We have been trying to get a SATA hot swap drive setup for our Poweredge 2900. What we wanted to do was use SATA drives for backup. The 2900 has a SAS RAID5 setup for the main drives. The SATA on the PE2900 MB is "ASA" only and does not support any advanced SATA options, so will not work. We tried Addonics SATA adapter, but th PE ignores it. Doesn't show up at all. Whatever we use must be compatible with X64.

Thanks for any ideas or suggestions.
 
Not sure about Dell compatibility, but I love my 3ware 9500s card. It is 64-bit PCI-X and should work, but the thing I love most about 3ware is their US-based support, email or phone. Give them a call, you'll be talking to a tech in 5 minutes who will answer all your questions:
