I recently purchased an AMD 64 3000+ CPU with SATA 120GB HDD I haven't received my 64 bit operating system yet, so I decided to Install Windows 2000 for now. The HDD shows in the start up post, but the installation doesn't see any HDD at all. So I switched to installing XP thinking maybe 2000 couldn't understand the SATA configuration. However XP doesn't see it either. The system has a RAID setup so I pushed f4 and chose format. Reformatting the HDD, in case that was the issue. Still it doesn't see it.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get this to work?
thanks in advance
Len

after I wrote that I saw that there were others with the same issue. I guess I should have read before I whined. I'll let you know how it works

no problem!
btw... i suggest that you try downloading driver from your motherboard chipset manufacturer site - those where the only drivers that worked for me...
bye!
