Hi folks
I have 2 Maxtor SATA drives, 1 is a 300gb and the other is a 160gb, thet both have previously been formated and used in a desktop pc, about 8 months ago i installed them in an external NAS Encloser, which formats them to it's own operating system...
I decided to take them out, which i have done, and I have since sold on the NAS encloser.
When I run the "Maxtor Maxblat" utlity, I get a message saying, "Atleast one of the installed drives must be either Seagate or Maxtor", it closed and advises I use Arconis True Image Home.
I run true image it see's the drives, but will not format, the program either hangs or reports an error "Failed to write to the sector ** of the hard disc"
I have tried various combinations of settings, and both drives are the same..
I am using Win XP with service pack 3
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks B141
