SATA drive problem

I bought Seagate's SATA Barracuda 7200.10, 750 GB drive last week. I hooked it up to my computer and it was working fine the first day, I even transferred some data to it. I left the computer on for about 6 hours while I took a nap and when I woke up, the computer had shutdown. When I booted up, the new drive could not be detected.

When the computer starts up, the drive makes a beeping nose every few seconds. I have determined by putting my ear to it that the drive starts spinning, makes the beeping noise and stops spinning. It then repeats this pattern for about 15 minutes until there is no activity from the drive. This happens every time I start up the computer.

I have four drives hooked up to the motherboard. I can detect the three remaining, working drives when the drive that isn't working is not connected. When I connect it, it makes one of the drives disappear in addition to not being detectable itself.

I would like to get my personal data off the drive and then return the drive while the return policy is still active. Any advice would be appreciated.

The cause may be an overloaded power supply.
See what happens when one(or both) of the other 2 drives(not the boot drive) is disconnected, and the Seagate drive is connected.
If the Seagate drive now works, then the PS does not have sufficient punch to run 4 HD's along with the remaining components.

If that does not fix things, then connect the Seagate HD to another SATA connector.
If still no luck, then the drive may be defective.
