I have an ABIT VT7 motherboard with PATA and SATA interface. I have installed a PATA WD 60GB HD with XP. The drives boots fine. I then disconnected the PATA cable from the IDE interface on the motherboard. Then I added two SATA drives and configured them for RAID 0. I was then able to boot to the SATA drives fine. The performance was very good. I then connected the PATA drive back to the IDE interface and left the SATA drives connected to the motherboard SATA interface. When I boot the PATA drive booted up. I wanted the SATA drives to boot and use the PATA drive as extra storage. Is there a way to remove the MBR from the PATA drive and leave it installed with the SATA drives working as the boot drives.

Thanks.

Have you got stuff on the ATA drive you need to save?
Unfortunately the PATA drive will always take priority over the SATA if both are bootable.
Can't you just fdisk? with a boot floppy?

What boot order options are available in your bios? Does the SATA interface boot from 'SCSI' - and if so, can't you set that as first boot option?
