Hi,

I am asking this question to the SQL server forum as well as to this SAS forum in hopes thatsoemone will be able to help.

Using the DTS GUI tool on enterprise manager (SQL server)
I want to import a SAS file.

When I select a SAS file I am asked to input the
servername on which resides the SAS file. Thie interface
for this looks like it is from SAS (it does not look
like SQL server interface)

Anyway, I go to SERVERS and enter the server name.
When I try to go to the nest line I get an error message
saying the syntax is incorrect. What syntax?
It asks for the server name and I entered it
(server name looks like 'Sr20name' without the single quotes)

Does anyone know whatI should be doing here?

Thanks

ds

Sorry the above post is not quite accurate
(I was a bit confused when I wrote it)
My situation is the following:
I am trying to create a SAS DSN.

I go to the DATA SERVICE (ODBC) icon.
I click on Add .

I then scroll down to and select SAS.

In the 'General' Window I entered the DSN name.
I tried to enter a server name but none exist
to I then CLICK on SERVERs.

Again I click on ADD.

A window comes up that has you add a servername.
I do. (sr20Name)

I try to go to the next line but I get an error message
saying the syntax is wrong. What is wrong?
I simply added the name as

sr20firefinch

I tried different combinations lower/upper case.
Nothing worked. The error box said 'See help'
I clicked on Help and the SAME error box
came up.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

ds
