Good Morning All,
New to SAP, but from a data warehousing background with extensive knowledge in data structures/bases and Oracle SQL.
I would like to connect to SAP via the available SAPDB odbc available on the net. I downloded a tool called SAPDB SQLStudio which would appear to provide for me the ability to communicate directly with the various (I know) data at the table level.
Since this is odbc, I could assume a successful connect to any odbc compliant software, like MS Access.
I recieve the following error when attempting to connect:
[SAP AG][sqlod32 dll][sap db] Unable to connect to data source; -709 connect : (XSERVER might be inactive).
I've downloaded a free xserver (I'm afraid I'm not sure of it's involvement here), but I cannot connect successfully with that either, since there is no dialog for the Client / System / ID / Password information I normally use to connect to SAP.
If there is any expertise out there for assistance, it would more than appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
