Sap Working Directory 1

Hi,
My setup is Citrix Metaframe 1.8/Windows Terminal Server 4.0.
we installed SAP 4.6B on Citrix. During Installation i did not specifed any particualr directory for SAP WORKING DIRECTORY. It took default directory in the profile.
Now i want to change the location of the sapworking directory to some users Home Directory????
what about Cache Files. how do i specify indivdual Cache directories to each user.

How can i do this. were do i need to make the Changes.

Well, you'd need to know where the path to the profile dirs was referenced in the Registry, eg in HKCU and HKLM.

I'd suspect that this would require a re-install, unless you knew all of the locations of these references.

If you did know, you could simply change the variable from %profiledir% (or whatever the app uses) to %homedir% - someone will probably correct me on this variable name.

I would suggest just reinstalling it and pointing the "start in:" to your \\servername\share\%username%. Our company has 25 Citrix server with SAP 4.6D installed and it's a pretty quick install. Whenever you get done installing it just right-click on the "all users" tab and modify the "start in:" path and you will be good.

Unfortunately they will have to restart caching their transaction codes in their new location.

HKCU\Software\SAP\SAPgui Front\SAP Frontend Server\LocalData

In there you will see the SAP Cache path, change in there with a login script and SAP will pick this up and look there for there cache entries.
