I have been just hired to manage a rather complex SAP system translation into 5 languages. This is a massive global SAP localization project involving more than 300 systems, several regional/local tracks with 5 environments each(dev,qa,test, pre-prod & prod)under Enterprise 1.0,mysap.com, WAS 6.20, and the latest releases of Xapps and NDP like APO...

We are having many discussions on the need of placing an additional independent system translation. Also we believe lang supp and manual methods can be more reliable than using SAP's translation tools and the SE63. SAP is not providing any good/reliable know-how for it seems everything is a special case and needs a specific process/method; they seem quite lost in this case. Besides transporting a consistent SAP sys terminology to all the systems becomes rather difficult as translation triggers can be found in dev, config, etc at different stages. My question:
Does anyone know a good professional source of doc on SAP system translation best practices? I mean real good information not just a ppt done by SAP, Books? Forums?

Any references on good SAP localization consultants specialized in sys translation? We are having a hard time staffing the project.

Thanks for your time.

what languages? U want to translate custom ABAPs/texts/helps in standard SAP languages, do U really need them in all systems? Or U want all standard texts incl. helps and IMG in some exotical languages( not SAP supported)?
