SAP R/3 on NT/Oracle : saveset too large

Hi ,

I am running legato power edition.

SAP R/3 on N sp6 and oracle 8i

Actually I am facing problem while running legato.

When i try to backup thru legato the error comes is as below :

BR229I Calling backup utility...
BR278I Command output of 'I:\usr\sap\P62\SYS\exe\run\backint.exe -u P62 -f backup -i L:\ORACLE\P62\SAPBACKUP\.bdhsdftb.lst -t
Backint exiting at Apr 07 22:36:21 with fatal error
Saveset too large: must increase sessions setting

Do you have a clue how to look tackle that.

please help me.

Hi,

have a look at the init<SID>.utl file. Ther is an entry
savesets = XX. If this value is to small you can get such an error.
I think 1000 is enough.
For each file in this backuprun you need at last 1 session.

Hi,

setting the savesets-Parameter in the utl-file to 1000 is not necessary. Our rule: (DB-Size in GB/2)+5, i.e. your DB is about 500 GB, it works with 255 - 260. Look in the backint<SID>.log, how the datafiles are allocate to the save sessions.
