We are moving our Production SAP environment from an older HP N class system, using HP Data Protector to a HP IA64 blade with Netbackup. I need to configure Netbackup to do an "online split" and an "offline_split". The database is on an EMC Symmetric 8730. The documentation I found says we have to write scripts to split and then resync the BCVs. I have the command to split and establish the BCV when the backup is complete. Once the split is done, is there a NetBackup process that determines what file systems to mount on the backup server so the production database can be restarted? Our SAP must be available 24 x 7. HP Data Protector had a program that would do this with no custom programming. I have the "Veritas NetBackup6.0 for SAP" but there is no detail information for the online and offline split backups.
