SAP on AIX migration question

Hi people,

I have an outsourced customer, who has AIX 4.3.3 (IBM pseries) machines running SAP 4.6C and Oracle 8.1.7. As of next week we are going to upgrade the AIX`s to 5.1. I know that SAP 4.6C works fine on AIX 5.1, but how about Oracle 8.1.7? Oracle`s web pages tell me that 8.1.7 on AIX 5.1 is not supported by Oracle. This strikes me to think that there are some problems with this configuration.

Is there anybody running any of these configurations? Or know any of the potential problems we may face when upgrading to AIX 5.2 with Oracle 8.1.7

Is your customer not upgrading its oracle to 9i? I think you need to ask your customer to help you find some sap notes regarding this so that you can clarify if there will be no problem running oracle 8 in aix 5.2 maybe you might just need some fixes or something to help adjust your database to a new version of aix.
