Greetings:

My company is planning to move to new ERP software. We have been using Exact Macola Progression for about 12 years now.

I would like to gain some insight into some of your experiences with the SAP Business One product which we are considering. I'm not even sure that this is the proper forum and if it is not, can you please direct me to a forum that may help me?

We are a hybrid company that does distribution both domestically and internationally, we also import, we do value-added manufacturing and some limited manufacturing.

Any insight that can be provided would be appreciated.

Chris,

I recommend that you look at SAP's new All-In-One Business Suite in stead. In essence you get the core SAP ERP system with Industry Specific Best Business Practice templates loaded. You can go to help.sap.com -> select the SAP Best Business tab -> select the Industry Packages tab -> select your industry on the left panel. In the center panel select the release and language that is localized for your country.

On the resulting screen, select Business Information in the left-hand panel and then preconfigured Scenarios. You can then look at the detailed business process scenario documentation on your right – really great stuff!

SAP is now working with selected SMB partners to deliver prepackaged solutions based upon these templates. The pricing is very aggressive and a lot of small and medium size companies are now buying and implementing it in 16-20 weeks (complete with all modules).
