I'm a newbie with SANs so bear with me. I've posted this on the SAN forum as well.

I have a 2 Solaris 8 Boxs which are attached to our EMC SAN. These boxes will form a cluster eventually so they are both configured to see the same LUNS on the SAN. The should see 3 LUNS.

Each box has two single port emulex LP9002 HBAs and there are two ports on the SAN (SPA and SPB I think) so each LUN has 4 paths to it.

On one Solaris Box everthing is fine on the other box I'm not seeing 2 LUNS, where do I start ? I've checked lpfc.conf, sd.conf and they seem ok (compared to the other box). I think I may have messed up my path_to_inst file, how can I regenerate this file ?

Thanks.

just rename the path_to_inst file, and run a "reboot -- -arv" This reboot will ask some questions on what to do

Thanks Franz for your response, I deleted all the entries relating to lpfc in the path_to_inst file and then did a reconfigure boot which then recreated the entries in path_to_inst.

I also apparently had the hba1 and hba2 enties interchanged in lpfc.conf and after correcting that I'm in business.
